TATOVERING
Tatovering: The Huscarls each have knot work tattoos upon their arms. These are mandatory upon joining the unit and are used as remembrance pieces for the Huscarls. Lest they forget where they come from.
These tattoos get added to for every campaign the Huscarl member takes part in and for the older members of the unit have developed into full sleeves. Vegard Eiriksen and the other original members have two full sleeves and are still adding to this.

Tatovør: A sacred position within the Huscarls is the Tatovør. He is responsible for tattooing each of the members Tatovering. It is an almost reverend position as the Tatovør is also the units spiritual leader. Not in a religious way but in a supportive way, members can bring problems to the Tatovør to discuss and seek help.
This position is until either the mercenary dies or leaves the unit, for whatever reason. When a new Tatovør is needed, the unit comes together and votes in their new choice.
The current Tatovør is tank driver Joachim Berg and has been for the last six campaigns.
